Jess Hinsley

Throughout August we are very excited to be hosting an exhibition of work by local artist Jess Hinsley. Open 11am -4pm Wednesday - Sunday, call in and enjoy these striking landscapes, much of the work is available to purchase. Please note that there may be occasions when the space is in use for short periods and therefore viewing won't be possible. Jess illustrator based in the Brecon Beacons, Wales. Her work explores her love of nature and wild places. She uses coloured pencils and brush pens to create her scribbly, lively drawings when out exploring, and both acrylic and gouache paint along with coloured pencils in her studio.

Jess grew up on the south coast of England, surrounded by creativity, and was always drawing and making. She knew from an early age that she wanted to make a living from her artwork, and was naturally drawn to illustration through my fascination with picture books. In 2011 she embarked on the BA(Hons) Illustration degree at the University of Gloucestershire, where she spent many hours drawing, learning, growing creatively, and eventually emerged with a First Class degree. In her spare time she bakes, sews, knits, writes, explores the world and reads (mostly classic literature or detective novels!)
